Description:
In this classic word game, players use their seven drawn letter-tiles to form words on the gameboard. Each word laid out earns points based on the commonality of the letters used, with certain board spaces giving bonuses. But a word can only be played if it uses at least one already-played tile or adds to an already-played word. This leads to slightly tactical play, as potential words are rejected because they would give an opponent too much access to the better bonus spaces. The new gameboard is a 21 by 21 grid (the original is 15 by 15) with some quadruple premium bonus squares. The game includes two hundred tiles with a new distribution of letter tiles (not just a double set of the original distribution).

Awesome new version of an old favoriteSep 23, 2008 We are scrabble nuts, and this new version with a huge board and 200 tiles is really a lot of fun. You can run up scores of 1000 points on one game. Having the embossed board so the tiles stay in place is a real plus. The little ball wheels work ok on a hard table top, but are not very effective on a padded card table top. All in all, well worth the money!

Poor quality board.Sep 12, 2008 I gave this to my mother as a gift. After she took it on a trip to my sister's, they recommended I return it. The board folds in half, unlike the Deluxe Edition of the regular Scrabble game. The board is flimsy and didn't lay flat along the fold line, so the letters wouldn't lie flat. I was disappointed, to say the least. We love playing Scrabble, so my gripe is only about the board quality.

200 scrabbleAug 11, 2008 I purchased the Super Scrabble. It's a lot more fun because it has twice as many letters. This version is an improvement because it is on a turntable and it has a raised board so the letters fit into little boxes. This way the letters do not move as you chage players. I highly reccommend this game for Scrabble lovers.

The larger board presents a unique set of tactical options: more squares, more and different bonus squares, more turns to play, more chances to get Q, W, X, Z, Y, more chances to get a tray of nothing but vowels or consonants.
The ball-bearing undercarriage works best on a firm matte finish, like a tablecloth or leather over wood.
The raised grid makes moving the board, on its ball-bearings, resistant to tile slide.
Although not as beautiful as the Onyx or Franklin Mint editions, this Super Deluxe edition is a great way to PLAY [9 points].
