Description:

Precision Opaque 7 Piece Dice Set, including d6, d4, d10 (0-9), d12, d20, d10 (00-90) and d8. Seashell White with numbers (not inked). Manufactured by GameScience in the USA.

Features:

GameScience makes Precision dice that will role true every time. Edges are sharp, as these dice are not tumbled like most brands.

Lack of tumbling leaves a small imperfection on each dice that can easily be polished down with model-grade sandpaper.

Numbers are impressed in the plastic, but not inked. If you would like to ink your dice, use an ultra-fine-point permanent marker (ie Sharpie), or purchase the pre-inked version.

Priced per set.

Manufactured by GameScience, in the USA!

4Almost perfectApr 12, 2010
I purchased these dice for myself and I have enjoyed using them in our D&D sessions. The edges are sharp and the lack of ink allows you to personalize them with any color you choose.

The decision to go with GameScience was fairly simple given the choices for sharp edged, ink-less dice. Unfortunately there are imperfections that cannot be cleaned up by the owner. I am fully aware of the do-it-yourself concept with these dice however there are considerable divots on a few dice that technically reduce their balance. This is why I categorize them as "Almost perfect".

5A Quality ProductSep 25, 2009
I have bought two seven-piece opaque sets of dice and 3 gem d20 dice.

There is a blemish where the dice are broken off the sprue and how "lumpy" the break is seems to depend on whether it is opaque or gem. The gem d20's I bought generally had very noticeable blemishes that didn't cause them to sit quite flat. Whereas the opaque d20's had blemishes might as well be flat.

I wonder if it's because there's a different kind of plastic used in the gem dice as opposed to the opaque dice. Be forewarned, if you buy the gem dice, be prepared to do some work with sandpaper or a nailfile to even out the surface with the blemish.

I might recommend that you buy mostly d20's, since those tend to be the most important dice that would need crisp edges and even-distributed surfaces. For the most part, I don't think the full sets of dice are as important as getting the individual game science d20's.

Overall, I'm happy with the dice. The surfaces of the dice are flat and the edges are crisp. When I hold them up to my eye, the game science d20's are pretty close to perfect. My old d20's, by comparison, were all definitely the cheap rock-tumbler kind and it was obvious in the uneven surfaces and the egg-shape. Although the Game Science d20's aren't quite *exactly* perfect, they're up to much tighter tolerances than most dice in my collection.

These dice do exactly what they should do, roll random numbers as per their sides. Finely crafted and have nice sharp edges. If you don't roll them on a hard table top though, they will not roll.
