5Great by Opinion and from a Technical StandpointMar 02, 2010
These dice are not the flashiest. They are not made of some magical "dwarven stones" or "precious metals" or some other nonsense that only serves to make them expensive. Going further than that, they obviously don't have pretty speckles, are not a holiday theme, not limited edition, and the numbers are black. How original. So why such a high rating?
Because they work. They do exactly what they are supposed to. They are light and they are durable. No cheap hard-plastics; this is the stuff true dice are made of. And I don't mean bone. This said, they can still be nicked on concrete or other surfaces you probably won't be using them on.
As far as I could tell, they are all shaped perfectly, or as close as you can tell with the naked eye and as close as is needed. Color-wise, the orange contrasts well with the black. There are better contrasting ones, but this is where opinion comes in. You like orange? I do. Here's orange. Don't like orange? They make a lot of other colors.
So how is it educational? These would be invaluable in a math class! I really wish more teachers knew about these; they are random number generators for different values than just one to six. We had to do a coin flip probability project in the first grade. We could have gone so much further with these. Also, they can be used to settle virtually any dispute, but this is going on a limb.

Bottom line: You need dice with more sides? You play D20 based RPGs, are a math teacher, or just want to generate tons of different numbers for any purpose imaginable? These will do perfectly.

5polyhedral dice rock!Feb 28, 2010
While stand alone these polyhedral die are not very fun. All the amazing games you can play with them using the D20 system are. These dice have rounded edges and are very durable, I have used them a lot since i got them and they work just fine. Plus the orange black contrast is very easy to see.
