It used to be funMar 10, 2010 I have played Apples to Apples many times, and each time I play it, it gets less and less fun. The game was hilarious the first time I played with friends, and it was rather fun to play several times afterward as well. It is also a good ice-breaker game. However, it seems like at every party or when friends would come over, we would play Apples to Apples. I think that since the game is simplistic, it runs out of fun rather quickly, even with the variations. The fun part of playing is coming up with ironic noun/adjective combinations, but after a while it gets old to be matching Helen Keller with "insert adjective here". Some of the card parings are really funny, but after playing the game for a while, you see similar combinations, and they become less funny/amusing/entertaining.
I think that it's fun when you are picking the nouns for your adjective card, but even then it gets old. The rest of the time, you are hoping that you don't end up with boring nouns and no one picks your card.
I guess if you like games that require no thought and are extremely repetitive, or you are only planning to play this game once every couple of parties/etc, then I guess you'll like Apples to Apples.

Apples to ApplesFeb 12, 2010 My mom got us this game for Christmas and I LOVE it!! We had to sorta cull through the cards though. If we get it for someone as a gift we will get the Jr. verson. The bible verson is to hard.
Fun for ages 8 to 88.Feb 11, 2010 Someone brought Apples to Apples to a Hallowe'en party in 2009. The group of people who hardly knew each other, aged 18 to 80, became quickly acquainted and was laughing together for at least 2 hours.
I instantly knew what I wanted to give as Christmas gifts. And I didn't forget to buy one for myself.
Easy to play, and lots of laugh. All you need is a wild imagination.
